Gameplay

Pilot your ship across an alien landscape in Stargate, a fast-paced shooter building upon the foundation of Williams’ earlier hit, Defender. Your mission is to rescue humanoids from abduction by strange aliens while navigating increasingly challenging waves of enemies like Firebombers, Dynamos, and Yllabian Space Guppies. A unique feature allows you to use a Stargate for quick travel across the planet, either to intercept abductions or reach vulnerable areas—successfully warping through with rescued humanoids will even propel you forward in time and space. Strategic gameplay is essential for survival; utilize an Inviso cloak to become temporarily invincible and destroy enemies by flying through them, and earn valuable bonuses by rescuing multiple humanoids consecutively. As the game progresses, expect intense dogfights and spectacular showdowns against waves of increasingly formidable opponents. The universe hangs in the balance—failure to protect the humanoids leads to planetary instability, unleashing deadly mutants upon the landscape. With its challenging gameplay and innovative mechanics, Stargate delivers a thrilling arcade experience demanding skill and precision.
