Superior Soldiers (US)

Superior Soldiers is a two-player versus fighting game released in 1993 by Irem America. Originally developed in Japan as Perfect Soldiers, this North American export version features updated graphics and runs on Irem’s proprietary M-92G hardware. Players select from a roster of uniquely designed characters, each with their own distinct abilities and attack patterns, to engage in head-to-head combat across varied battle arenas. The gameplay focuses on close-quarters fighting, utilizing punches, kicks, throws, and special moves to defeat your opponent. Mastering character-specific combos and anticipating an adversary's actions are key to victory. The game's visual style presents a colorful aesthetic distinct from the original Japanese release. A computer port of Superior Soldiers was included in the "Irem Arcade Hits" compilation for both PC and Macintosh platforms, released in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
