Sharpshooter (Rev 1.9)
P&P Marketing • 1998

Sharpshooter is a two-player shooter game released in 1998 by P&P Marketing. Players use light guns to target objectives across various challenges presented on screen. Early versions of the game shared similarities with "Police Trainer," but later revisions significantly altered gameplay and introduced features designed for location-based play. A unique “Auto” difficulty setting adjusts challenge levels based on overall player performance at an arcade, providing a dynamically tailored experience. The game offers diverse scenarios, including shooting balloons directly in one mode and eliminating targets without penalty requirements in another. Software design was led by Andreja Djokovic with art contributions from Doug Snook and Jarod Pranno while Rob Herman created the sound effects and music. Technical specifications include an R3000 CPU and a BSMT2000 sound chip, both operating at 24 MHz. Sharpshooter’s development involved extensive collaboration; alongside P&P Marketing personnel, support was also provided by Sega's technical teams. Version 1.7 included substantial revisions to the game’s code as well as improvements to the diagnostic program and gun calibration processes.
