Super Shanghai Dragon's Eye is a tabletop arcade game released in Japan by Hot-B Co., Ltd. in 1992 and designed for two players. It’s part of a long series inspired by the classic Chinese tile-matching puzzle, Shanghai. Players maneuver tiles across the playfield using an eight-way joystick and buttons to eliminate pairs of matching stones. The gameplay builds upon earlier entries in the Shanghai series with enhanced graphics and sound capabilities enabled by its Motorola 68000 processor and Zilog Z80 sound chip. Featuring a vibrant palette of colors, two players can compete against each other, attempting to clear the board more efficiently than their opponent. This installment continues the tradition of blending strategic thinking with quick reflexes, inviting players to test their pattern recognition skills in a competitive setting. A Super Famicom console port followed shortly after its arcade debut.
