Super Ranger (v2.0)
SunA • 1988
Also known as: Rough Ranger

SunA’s Super Ranger arrived in arcades in 1988 as an export release from Korea. This two-player game blends platforming and scrolling shooter elements, tasking players with navigating perilous environments while battling enemies. As Rangers, players leap across platforms, fire projectiles, and attempt to clear each stage of hostile forces that appear on screen. The gameplay focuses on coordinated action between the two players; success depends on teamwork as they progress through increasingly challenging levels. Super Ranger is a direct successor to an earlier title known as "Rough Ranger," offering an updated experience for fans of the original. A bootleg version of the game was also distributed by NIWA. Licensed for distribution, Super Ranger provided a fast-paced cooperative experience that would have been familiar to players of similar action games from the era.
