Taito • 1999

Super Puzzle Bobble is a two-player arcade puzzle game released by Taito in 1999 as a successor to the popular Bubble Bobble series. Players take turns launching colored bubbles from the bottom of the screen towards clusters of like-colored bubbles at the top. Successfully matching three or more bubbles causes them to pop and fall, with the goal being to clear the entire playfield before the bubbles reach the bottom line. The game utilizes Taito’s G-Net hardware platform. Featuring a colorful visual style and upbeat soundtrack, Super Puzzle Bobble maintains the core gameplay loop that made its predecessors so engaging while introducing new elements and challenges for seasoned puzzle fans. Cooperative play allows friends to work together towards clearing the screen.
