Gameplay

Sprint 4 places you behind the wheel of a race car on a circular track in this competitive driving game from Atari, released in 1977. Up to four players can join the action simultaneously, each controlling their vehicle with a full 360-degree steering wheel and gas pedal. The objective is simple: complete as many laps as possible at top speed, striving for a high score that will earn you recognition as either a Rookie or Pro driver. The game features multiple track layouts selectable before starting a match, all presented in a straightforward black and white visual style. Computer-controlled cars fill out the field if fewer than four players are present. Reaching a score of 250 points extends gameplay by an additional thirty seconds, adding to the challenge. Sprint 4 is housed within a unique cocktail cabinet design with steering wheels for each player, offering a distinctive and immersive arcade experience. Two sprite sizes exist: large cars (12x12 pixels) and smaller ones (11x11 pixels).
