Springer is a two-player platform game released in December 1982 by Orca. Players control characters who navigate vertically oriented levels, utilizing an eight-way joystick to run and jump across platforms while avoiding obstacles. The game presents a challenge requiring precise timing and coordination as players attempt to progress through the increasingly complex environments. The visuals utilize a palette of 256 colors on a 224 x 256 pixel resolution screen, refreshed at 60 frames per second. Powered by a Zilog Z80 processor and an AY8910 sound chip, Springer offers straightforward controls with a single button used for jumping. A license to produce the game was also granted to Nicole Manufacturing. Springer found its way to the Atari 2600 console following its arcade debut.
