Splat! — Gameplay
Gameplay

In Splat!, released by Williams in 1982, two players engage in a chaotic food fight across various themed fields. Using double eight-way joysticks, players control characters who fling projectiles – everything from pies to tomatoes – at each other and at hordes of advancing enemies inspired by the film Animal House. The goal is to deplete your opponent’s health bar while simultaneously defending yourself from incoming attacks. A unique feature of Splat! allows for character heads to be temporarily removed during gameplay, adding a layer of strategy as players attempt to outmaneuver and disable their foes. The game's vibrant graphics and energetic soundtrack contribute to the frenetic, comedic experience. Originally designed for two-player cooperative or competitive action, Splat! has since been ported to multiple gaming platforms including Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and PC.
