Spin Master / Miracle Adventure
Data East Corporation • 1993

Two players take on the role of treasure seekers Johnny and Tom in Spin Master / Miracle Adventure, a fast-paced platform fighter released by Data East Corporation in 1993. Their mission is to rescue their friend Mary from the clutches of an evil doctor and his comical army, while simultaneously collecting map pieces that will lead them to a vast treasure. Gameplay combines scrolling platforming with combat elements as players navigate levels filled with quirky enemies and powerful bosses like a giant Chinese dragon. Players use an eight-way joystick and three buttons to jump, shoot basic attacks, and unleash special "super" moves. The game utilizes the SNK Neo-Geo MVS hardware, providing vibrant graphics and energetic sound effects that complement the cartoonish character designs. Spin Master / Miracle Adventure marks Data East’s initial foray into developing games for the Neo-Geo system. The visual style shares some similarities with earlier Data East titles like Caveman Ninja, further enhancing the game's playful, action-packed experience. A soundtrack album was released in Japan shortly after the game’s debut and it has since been made available on Nintendo Wii Virtual Console services in several regions.
