Space Invaders '95: The Attack Of Lunar Loonies (Ver 2.5O 1995/06/14)
Taito Corporation Japan • 1995
Also known as: Akkanbeder

Space Invaders '95: The Attack of Lunar Loonies delivers a fresh take on the classic arcade shooter, introducing a quirky cast of characters and unusual spacecraft to pilot against descending alien formations. Up to four players can simultaneously defend against waves of invaders using an eight-way joystick and single fire button. Throughout gameplay, special items like bowling balls and time stops appear, offering temporary advantages for those skilled enough to collect them. Players select from six distinct crafts – the Teke-Teke, Toilet, Bucket/Corrugated Carton, Amulet, Silver Hawk, each with unique pilots and a powerful “charge shot” ability that alters how attackers are eliminated. Successfully clearing each screen advances players through increasingly challenging levels, while failure results in losing a life. A playful quirk within the game prevents players from entering "SEX" as their initials on the high score table; any attempt will automatically be changed to "AAA." The US version of this Taito F3 cart includes an anti-drug message screen.
