Space Force is a two-player vertical shooter released in 1980 by Venture Line. Players control spaceships maneuvering within a field of asteroids and enemy projectiles. Using two-way joysticks and buttons, each player aims to destroy incoming threats while avoiding collisions. The game utilizes a limited color palette displayed on a vertically oriented screen with a resolution of 224 x 256 pixels. The gameplay revolves around constant movement and precision aiming as players fend off waves of asteroids and enemy fire. A separate sound chip manages the audio, utilizing three Texas Instruments SN76496 chips to create the game’s distinctive soundtrack and effects. Space Force later reappeared under the title "Meteoroids." Powered by an 8085A central processing unit running at 4 MHz and a dedicated I8035 sound CPU, this shooter offered a challenging cooperative experience for two players.
