Defend Earth from an alien invasion in Nintendo’s Space Fever, a thrilling shooter released in 1979. Taking clear inspiration from Space Invaders, this two-player arcade game challenges you and a friend to blast approaching rows of extraterrestrial craft before they reach the bottom of the screen. The aliens advance across the display, changing direction at the edges and descending as you eliminate them; increasing speed and enemy fire make survival progressively more difficult. Players use a simple two-way joystick to move their laser cannon horizontally and a single button to fire. Above the player's defenses sits a protective barrier of blocks that absorb incoming alien projectiles—but these shields are not indestructible. Scoring is based on the position of the aliens destroyed, with higher-placed enemies awarding more points, and occasional UFO appearances offering bonus rewards. Space Fever offers three distinct game modes for varied gameplay: Game A features opposing alien rows, Game B presents a single row appearing incrementally, and Game C replicates the classic Space Invaders experience. Character designs are by Shigeru Miyamoto.
