Snapper (Korea)
Philko • 1990

Navigate twisting mazes as a hungry snake in Philko’s Snapper, released in 1990. The gameplay centers around consuming all the balls scattered throughout each level to increase your size and progress. However, watch out! Colliding with your own body or encountering patrolling enemies will end your run, requiring you to restart the level. Successfully clearing a maze opens the path to the next challenge. Players control the snake using an eight-way joystick, maneuvering it through increasingly complex environments. The game utilizes a vibrant palette of colors and a resolution of 320x224 pixels for a detailed visual experience. A Yamaha YM2413 sound chip provides the audio accompaniment to this single-player maze adventure. Snapper offers a familiar, engaging experience reminiscent of classic "Blockade" style games, demanding both precision and strategic planning as you attempt to reach the exit of each level.
