Snacks'n Jaxson
Bally/Sente • 1984

Players control Jaxson, navigating through a series of increasingly challenging environments using a trackball to deflect a ball and collect snacks. The gameplay revolves around bouncing the ball strategically to knock down structures and gather food items while avoiding obstacles. A single button triggers a “sneeze” action that can be used to alter the ball’s trajectory or affect surrounding elements within the game's stages. Developed by Bally/Sente in 1984, Snacks’n Jaxson utilizes SAC-I hardware and features graphics with a palette of over one thousand colors displayed at a resolution of 256 x 240 pixels. The game’s sound is produced through a combination of Zilog Z80 processing and CEM3394 chips, creating an audio experience alongside the visual gameplay. Dave Ross handled programming duties while Bil Maher contributed to the game's design and graphics. The single-player experience challenges players with progressively difficult levels, demanding precision and skillful use of both the trackball controls and the sneeze button to succeed in gathering all the snacks presented.
