Slap Shot (Ver 3.0 O)
Taito Corporation Japan • 1994

Slap Shot is a two-player hockey game released in 1994 by Taito Corporation Japan. Players use an eight-way joystick to control their paddles and attempt to shoot a puck into their opponent's goal. The gameplay resembles air hockey, requiring quick reflexes and strategic positioning to block shots and create scoring opportunities. A special shot function is available to increase the chance of successfully maneuvering the puck past the opposing player. Developed by East Technology, Slap Shot utilizes a Motorola 68000 processor for its main functions, complemented by a Zilog Z80 sound CPU and Yamaha YM2610B sound chip. The game’s graphics were designed by K. Suzuki and others, with music composed by H. Kudoh. Programmers M. Tamano and T. Ikeda contributed to the game's development. The controls consist of a joystick and three buttons allowing for precise puck manipulation and strategic plays between two players competing for victory. Released in August 1994, Slap Shot represents East Technology’s final video game project.
