Sky Bumper
Venture Line • 1982

Take to the skies in Sky Bumper, a two-player flying shooter released by Venture Line in 1982. Players pilot an airplane through a nighttime cityscape, tasked with destroying enemy helicopters while maneuvering around obstacles. Points are earned by eliminating these foes and shooting through gates that unlock access to new areas of the game world. A unique gameplay element allows players to bounce their planes off the edges of the screen, similar to bumper cars, adding an extra layer of challenge and strategic possibilities. The vertical-screen presentation displays a resolution of 224x256 pixels with a palette of 32 colors, creating a vibrant visual experience as you navigate the aerial environment. Sky Bumper is part of Venture Line’s “Looping” series, offering cooperative or competitive gameplay for two players using simple vertical joysticks and buttons to control their aircraft.
