Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix (USA 970904)
Capcom • 1997
Also known as: Pocket Fighter

Capcom’s Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix is a two-player versus fighting game released in 1997 for arcade use. Built on the CPS-II hardware platform and initially distributed in North America and Europe, this title originated from a Japanese development effort that shares a lineage with an earlier game called Pocket Fighter. Players select from a cast of characters – each representing a different astrological sign – and engage in fast-paced battles utilizing unique gem-based attacks. The gameplay centers around strategic use of these gems to execute special moves and combos against your opponent. Battles take place within compact, stylized arenas designed to emphasize quick reactions and precise timing. Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix runs on Capcom’s “CP System II” hardware and later saw releases on Sony PlayStation consoles in both North America and Europe, as well as appearing on the PlayStation 2 via an anthology collection. A mobile version was also released under the original Japanese title. This arcade adaptation provides a streamlined fighting experience, offering a condensed presentation of its predecessor’s mechanics while retaining the core gameplay elements that made it popular.
