Secret Agent (World, revision 3)

Step into the shoes of a suave secret agent tasked with stopping a terrorist organization known as CWD from launching a stolen nuclear missile in Secret Agent. This side-scrolling platform shooter for two players puts you on a mission filled with action and recognizable nods to classic spy films. You'll navigate diverse environments, from treacherous platforms to underwater scuba levels and even a thrilling motorbike chase, all while battling enemy forces. Gameplay involves running, jumping, and shooting your way through eight distinct stages. Starting with only a pistol – whose ammunition is limited – you must scavenge for machine guns dropped by defeated enemies or collect Golden Gun components to acquire a powerful temporary rifle that instantly eliminates foes. Familiar faces make appearances, including recognizable villains from the spy film genre, adding a layer of playful homage to the action. The final confrontation awaits in an underground lair where all previously encountered bosses reappear for one last showdown. Throughout your mission, you’ll be guided by a voice impersonating a famous actor, offering encouragement after completing each level. Hidden references and easter eggs related to other Data East titles can also be discovered within this fast-paced adventure.
