Gameplay

Submerge yourself in Sea Wolf II, a dual-player shooter released in 1978 by Dave Nutting Associates and Midway. Players control crosshairs at the water's surface, aiming torpedoes launched from the bottom of the screen to destroy enemy ships appearing in an underwater environment. Navigate through floating mines while targeting various vessels, from slow-moving destroyers to swift PT boats—each successful hit triggers a visual effect within your periscope. The unique control scheme utilizes two metal periscopes extending down from the marquee, providing players with both aiming guidance and a display of remaining torpedoes, reload status, and an explosion indicator. Each submarine can fire five shots before needing to automatically reload. Extending gameplay requires achieving a certain score before time expires; this threshold is adjustable by operators. As the first sequel in the Sea Wolf series, Sea Wolf II marked a notable step forward in arcade technology. Approximately 4,000 units of this game were produced and later ported to home computers like the Atari 800 and Commodore C64.
