Gameplay

Pilot an aircraft in Scion, a fast-paced vertical shooter from Seibu Denshi released in 1984. Two players can team up to face relentless waves of alien spaceships and evade their attacks. The gameplay revolves around destroying a large, latticed structure that dominates the landscape; to progress, you must first eliminate a special airborne ship to acquire a powerful bomb weapon. These bombs are essential for targeting specific square formations within the ground structure, ultimately causing it to collapse and unlocking the next stage. Later levels culminate in challenging encounters with imposing boss structures. Scion offers straightforward controls—an 8-way joystick and two buttons—for precise maneuvering and combat. Powered by Zilog Z80 processors and General Instrument AY8910 sound chips, this arcade game delivers a classic shooter experience for up to two players. A version of the game was later released for MSX computers in 1985.
