Gameplay

Experience fast-paced soccer action in Taito’s Super Cup Finals, released in 1993 and running on the Taito F3 system. Up to four players can compete simultaneously, controlling their teams with an eight-way joystick to pass, shoot, and defend against opponents. The game presents a straightforward sports experience focused on skillful gameplay rather than complex strategies or detailed player management. Super Cup Finals, also known as Taito Cup Finals in some regions and Hattrick Hero '93 in Japan, features character designs by a team of artists including Takeshi Kobori and Yuji Sakamoto. The soundtrack was later released on a limited-edition album from Zuntata Records. A unique quirk within the game prevents players from entering "SEX" on the high score table; any attempt results in the initials being automatically changed to "!!!”. The game builds upon Taito’s earlier soccer titles like Football Champ and precedes later entries such as Hattrick Hero '94. Expect a vibrant, arcade-style presentation with simple controls designed for quick matches and competitive play.
