Satan of Saturn (set 1)
SNK • 1981
Also known as: Zarzon

Journey to Saturn in Satan of Saturn, a vertical shooter from SNK released in 1981. Players pilot a spaceship and must destroy numerous "Satans" encountered on the planet's surface. Gameplay echoes the classic Space Invaders formula, tasking players with strategically maneuvering their ship while fending off enemy projectiles. Beyond eliminating the primary targets, bonus points are awarded for destroying comets and attacking dragonflies that appear during gameplay. Successful players can also earn additional spaceships as they accumulate scores of 5,000 or 10,000 points. The game progresses through four distinct screens, each presenting new challenges. Two players can team up to tackle the escalating threat, using two-way joysticks and buttons to control their ships and aim for high scores. Satan of Saturn was also distributed internationally under the name "Zarzon."
