Rival Schools: United By Fate (Europe 971117)
Capcom • 1997
Also known as: Shiritsu Justice Gakuen: Legion of Heroes

Rival Schools: United By Fate is a two-player versus fighting game released by Capcom in 1997. Set within a Japanese high school environment, players select from a diverse cast of students, each with their own unique fighting styles and special moves. Matches involve direct confrontation between the chosen characters, utilizing a range of punches, kicks, throws, and aerial attacks to deplete an opponent's health bar. The game emphasizes team-based gameplay; as fighters are defeated, reinforcements from their respective school can enter the battle to assist. This mechanic adds a strategic layer beyond simple one-on-one combat. Originally released in Japan under the name "Shiritsu Justice Gakuen - Legion of Heroes," this European version represents an export release intended for international arcades. A sequel, Project Justice – Rival Schools 2, followed in 2000, continuing the series' focus on high school rivalries and competitive fighting. A port of the game was later released for Sony PlayStation consoles both in Europe and North America.
