Navigate futuristic racecourses in Atari’s Road Blasters, a fast-paced driving game for one player. As a driver in a high-performance sports car, your mission is to complete fifty races against rival vehicles while managing your fuel supply carefully. Collect red and green fuel pods scattered along the track – or those dropped by defeated opponents – to keep your main tank topped up, with an additional reserve available when needed. Along the way you’ll face a variety of hazards including mines, oil slicks, and enemy gun emplacements, alongside indestructible obstacles that demand skillful maneuvering. Your car is equipped with a machine gun for defensive purposes; strategic shots can damage or destroy opponents, though some vehicles cannot be eliminated. Periodically, power-up weapons are dropped from above to increase your firepower during the races. Successful completion of each race restores fuel in your main tank but not your reserve, encouraging players to develop efficient driving strategies and precise shooting skills for a truly challenging arcade experience.
