Gameplay

Compete for racing glory in Riding Hero, a two-player motorbike driving game released by SNK in 1990 on their Neo-Geo MVS hardware. Players take on the role of an aspiring racer working to earn the prestigious World Grand Prix title, beginning with obtaining an International A License. The game offers multiple ways to play; challenge another rider directly in Multi Play mode, embark on a progression-based RPG adventure or attempt to conquer the W.G.P. racing circuit. Gameplay involves maneuvering your motorcycle around tracks using an 8-way joystick and three buttons – accelerator, brake, and turbo – to navigate obstacles and outpace opponents. The game’s unique “Multi Play Function” allowed for linked cabinets, enabling side-by-side racing experiences between players. Character designs were handled by a team including Kouichi Sakita and Takurin K, while Synthesize Yamada provided the soundtrack. Riding Hero marked an early example of SNK's Neo-Geo technology and was later ported to various home consoles, including the Neo-Geo AES and CD platforms.
