Revolution X (revision 2.0 9/8/94)
Midway • 1994

Step into a dystopian 1996 where the New Order Nation has outlawed music and youth culture. In Revolution X, you join forces with Aerosmith to fight back against this oppressive regime after the band is captured by Commander Mistress Helga. This three-player shooter puts you in control of a lightgun, tasked with blasting your way through levels filled with enemy soldiers and robotic drones while Aerosmith’s music provides the soundtrack. Progressing through stages, players work together to rescue the band members and ultimately dismantle the New Order Nation's oppressive rule. The game features a distinctive aesthetic influenced by popular culture, incorporating subtle nods to Monty Python and other comedic works within its credits sequence and hidden areas. Players can unlock secret content by completing specific objectives, such as destroying a black cat on a brick wall to reveal a hidden area containing the character "Trog." Revolution X utilizes Midway’s unique hardware, offering a 33-inch monitor for enhanced visual clarity in the three-player cabinet version and showcasing tracks like “Eat the Rich” and “Walk This Way.”
