Raiders5
UPL • 1985

Raiders5 is a cooperative maze shooter released in Japan by UPL in 1985 for two players. Navigating intricate labyrinths forms the core gameplay, as you and your partner work together to eliminate enemies scattered throughout each level. Using a four-way joystick and a single button, players maneuver their characters and fire projectiles to clear pathways and reach objectives within the maze. The game’s design features character and software development by Ryuichi Nishizawa and hardware and effect design by Nobuyuki Narita. Two General Instrument AY8910 sound chips provide audio accompaniment as you progress through the increasingly complex environments. Raiders5 later received a port to Sony PlayStation 4 systems in Japan, North America, and Australia, appearing as part of the Arcade Archives series.
