Qix (Rev 2)
Taito America Corporation • 1981
Also known as: Qix II

Qix challenges players to claim territory within an ever-shrinking playfield while avoiding a relentless, erratic opponent and patrolling sparks. Using a joystick, one or two players trace lines – either quickly for smaller point values or slowly for higher rewards – to create enclosed shapes that become their claimed area. The objective is to fill at least 75% of the screen with these areas to advance to the next level; however, success hinges on careful planning and quick reflexes as the Qix constantly moves, threatening to disrupt line creation, and sparks relentlessly pursue the player's marker. Later levels introduce a split-screen mechanic where two Qixes appear simultaneously, demanding even greater precision and strategic thinking for high scores.
