Pop'n Music 8
Konami • 2002

Pop'n Music 8 challenges players to hit colorful buttons in time with music, part of Konami’s broader BEMANI series. Nine distinctly colored buttons appear on screen, and as musical “notes” scroll downwards, the player must press them precisely when they reach a designated point. Successfully hitting these notes restores missing elements within the song's audio track, creating a dynamic interplay between player action and musical output. Released in 2002, this installment utilizes Konami’s Firebeat hardware to deliver vibrant visuals and a diverse soundtrack accessed through both CD-ROM and DVD-ROM media. A limited edition soundtrack album accompanied the game’s release later that year.
