Gameplay

In Pop Flamer, players take control of mice armed with flamethrowers and navigate maze-like environments in a cooperative shooting game for two. The objective is to clear each level by eliminating all the balloons while simultaneously burning away pesky monsters that patrol the pathways. Touching these creatures results in immediate defeat, demanding careful movement and strategic use of the flamethrower. A special power-up allows players to transform into a "Super Mouse," granting them a unique advantage – the ability to swallow nearby enemies for bonus points. Successfully popping all the balloons advances the player to the next increasingly challenging round. Released in Japan in December 1982, Pop Flamer utilizes a Zilog Z80 processor and custom sound chips to deliver its gameplay experience. Players use a four-way joystick and single button for movement and firing.
