Gameplay

In Poosho Poosho, two players cooperate to navigate a series of block-breaking challenges and rescue their colleagues from a fearsome dragon named Lier. As Elmir and Slein, transformed into slime by magic, you use a magical ball granted by a tree fairy to shatter barriers and progress through increasingly difficult stages in search of the water of life. Players control their characters using an 8-way joystick and two buttons for shooting and jumping, allowing them to strategically maneuver around obstacles and collect power-ups. Throughout the game, various items appear to aid your quest. Hearts restore lives, shields provide protection, and magnetic fields help catch errant balls. Special items like cannons and super balls enhance the ball’s power while others offer abilities such as increased jumping strength or even flight. Collecting specific character rings unlocks extra bonuses, encouraging thorough exploration of each level. The title, which translates from Korean to “Break Break!”, reflects the core gameplay loop of this breakout-style game released in 1999 by F2 System. With its dual-player cooperative action and varied power-ups, Poosho Poosho offers an engaging arcade experience for two players seeking a challenging block-busting adventure.
