Dooyong’s Pollux is a cooperative vertical scrolling shooter released in 1991 for two players. As pilots maneuvering through increasingly challenging environments, players use an eight-way joystick and two buttons to shoot enemies and deploy bombs against waves of advancing threats. The game features detailed background art and animation, brought to life by a team of designers including Meerang Oh and Woochoul Jung. Technical specifications include Zilog Z80 processors for both the main gameplay and sound functions, alongside Yamaha YM2203 chips that deliver its soundtrack composed by Sanghyuk Lee. The software was primarily developed by Haisung Ryou and Joagil Lee, under the direction of Jooshun Hong, Youchur No, and Choonduk Kia. Pollux provides a straightforward arcade experience focused on coordinated action between two players as they navigate the dangers presented onscreen.
