Gogetsuji Legends (US, Ver. 95.06.20)
Atlus • 1995
Also known as: Gouketsuji Gaiden - Saikyou Densetsu

Gogetsuji Legends is a two-player versus fighting game released by Atlus in 1995. A Japanese title literally meaning “Overpowering Blood Temple Legends,” this arcade release builds upon the foundation of earlier games within the Power Instinct series. Players choose from a diverse cast of characters and engage in close-quarters combat, utilizing various attacks and special moves to defeat their opponent. The gameplay centers around strategic positioning and mastering each character’s unique abilities. Success hinges on understanding attack patterns and exploiting vulnerabilities while defending against incoming strikes. A hidden code allows players to unlock Chuck, the game's final boss, for use in standard matches. As an export release, Gogetsuji Legends represents Atlus's continuing effort to expand their fighting game franchise internationally. It follows previous installments like Power Instinct and Power Instinct 2, while preceding later entries such as Groove on Fight and Matrimelee, establishing a lineage of martial arts-inspired arcade action.
