Pink Sweets: Ibara Sorekara is a fast-paced, vertically scrolling shooter developed by Cave and released in Japan in 2006. Players control one of several character ships – Meidi, Midi, Kasumi, and others – each with unique vocal performances adding to the game's distinctive style. Navigate through vibrant, candy-themed stages while battling waves of enemies and dodging intricate bullet patterns. Two players can join forces for cooperative gameplay as they work together to survive increasingly difficult encounters. The game builds upon Cave’s established “Ibara” series, offering a challenging experience focused on skillful maneuvering and precision shooting. Players utilize an eight-way joystick for movement and single-button controls for firing and deploying bombs to clear the screen of overwhelming enemy formations. Secret modes are available via specific button combinations at the start of play, allowing players to adjust difficulty or engage in score attack challenges with limited time. Pink Sweets: Ibara Sorekara features a distinctive aesthetic blending cute character designs with intense action sequences and a memorable soundtrack composed by Cave’s Sound Team and other contributors. A later compilation released on Xbox 360 included this title alongside another Cave shooter, “Muchi Muchi Pork!”
