Pengo (World, not encrypted, rev A)
Sega • 1982

Pengo is a unique maze game for two players where you control a penguin tasked with clearing out Sno-Bees from an icy environment. The gameplay revolves around strategically pushing blocks of ice to crush the blob-like enemies and clear each round. A key mechanic involves using the interactive maze itself – by pressing a button while moving, Pengo can slide ice blocks across the screen, potentially eliminating multiple Sno-Bees at once for increased points. As you play, new Sno-Bees will emerge from eggs hidden within the ice blocks, requiring careful planning and quick reflexes to manage the growing threat. Certain blocks are designated as "diamond blocks" that cannot be destroyed but can be strategically positioned for bonus scoring. Sudden death sequences add urgency when time runs out, accelerating both the music and enemy movement. With 16 rounds of increasingly challenging gameplay, Pengo combines strategic puzzle-solving with fast-paced action, offering a distinctive arcade experience.
