Power Drift (World, Rev A)
Sega • 1988

Power Drift throws players into a uniquely styled racing experience across five distinct and visually themed circuits. Each circuit contains five stages that twist and turn with a rollercoaster-like design, featuring steep drops and precarious ledges where a single miscalculation can send your car tumbling. The goal is to finish each four-lap race in third place or better to advance; failing to do so ends the game, but players can continue from the current stage by adding more credits. A distinctive feature of Power Drift is its tilting screen, which mirrors the player's steering movements, creating a disorienting yet engaging visual effect. The difficulty adjusts based on car selection – a red car offers an easier challenge, while gray provides the most demanding experience. Mastering gear changes and navigating the unusual track layouts are key to success. Beyond the main courses, skilled players can unlock bonus stages by achieving first-place finishes in specific circuits. Completing certain challenges unlocks special tracks featuring vehicles from other classic Sega games: a bike from Hang-On and a jet from After Burner.
