Gameplay

Team up with a friend and battle through hordes of enemies in this two-player platform fighter based on the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Released in 1989 by Konami under license from Nintendo of America, this version was distributed as part of the unique PlayChoice-10 cartridge system. Players control one of the four turtle heroes—Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael—as they navigate challenging levels filled with Foot Soldiers and other adversaries. The gameplay combines elements of platforming action with close-quarters combat. Utilizing an eight-way joystick and two buttons, players can jump, attack, and utilize special moves to defeat opponents. Expect the same core experience as found in the well-known NES version of the game. This PlayChoice-10 title runs on custom hardware featuring a Zilog Z80 processor alongside a Zetex N2A03 chip for sound and graphics, providing a distinct arcade experience within the limitations of the cartridge format.
