Captain Sky Hawk is a two-player vertical shooter released in 1989 by Rare under license from Nintendo of America and distributed via the PlayChoice-10 arcade system. Players control aircraft battling through waves of enemies as they ascend through the sky. Using an eight-way joystick and two buttons, players maneuver their planes to dodge projectiles and destroy incoming threats while progressing through increasingly challenging levels. This version of Captain Sky Hawk runs on unique Nintendo PlayChoice-10 hardware, utilizing a Zilog Z80 processor alongside a N2A03 chip for both gameplay and sound. The game offers cooperative play, allowing two players to work together to overcome the aerial challenges presented. It is intended as an adaptation of the original NES title, Captain SkyHawk.
