Gameplay

Gyakuten!! Puzzle Bancho is a two-player puzzle game released in Japan by Fuuki in 1996. Players manipulate falling blocks to create lines of three or more matching colors that touch—either horizontally, vertically, or in combination—to clear them from the playfield. Larger blocks disappear when matched, while smaller ones grow in size with each successful connection. The gameplay presents a steadily increasing challenge as players strive to keep the stack of blocks from reaching the top of the screen, which results in game over. This simple mechanic provides an accessible yet engaging experience for casual and competitive players alike. Featuring a Motorola 68000 processor and impressive sound capabilities utilizing Yamaha YM2203, YM3812, and OKI6295 chips, Gyakuten!! Puzzle Bancho offers both visual appeal and vibrant audio accompaniment to the puzzle-solving action.
