Pang Pom's
Metro • 1992

In Pang Pom’s, players cooperate to clear vibrantly colored screens filled with balloons using an 8-way joystick and two buttons. The goal is to pop every balloon on each stage to progress through the game; some balloons contain bonus points or prizes when burst. This platform and run-jump title, released in Japan in June 1992, features a static screen display and supports simultaneous two-player action. Developed by Metro, Pang Pom’s marked their debut as an arcade video game manufacturer. The game utilizes a Motorola 68000 processor alongside sound chips including an OKI6295 and YM2413 to create its audio experience. Its design team included visual artists Ponta, Suzuki, Asaku, and Kayoko, contributing to the game’s distinct aesthetic. Though initially released by Metro, Pang Pom’s was also licensed to Mitchell for distribution. The game's production involved a team including producer M. Ichimura, director Mr. Machida, and game designer Yos.S, demonstrating a collaborative effort in its creation.
