Released in Japan by Produce and licensed to Namco for distribution in December 1998, Paca Paca Passion is a rhythm action game designed for two players. Utilizing Namco System 12 hardware, the game challenges players with a series of musical sequences that require precise timing and coordination. The gameplay centers around performing synchronized movements alongside upbeat tracks, demanding both individual skill and teamwork between the two participants. Paca Paca Passion features a vibrant visual style displayed at a resolution of 640x480 pixels with a palette of over sixty thousand colors. It was followed by Paca Paca Passion 2 and Paca Paca Passion Special in 1999, continuing the rhythm-based gameplay for arcade audiences. A PlayStation port of the game appeared shortly after its initial release. The game’s internal identification is PPP, utilizing a SPU processor running at 16.9344 MHz and an H8/3002 CPU at 14.7456 MHz, along with a C352 sound chip also operating at 14.7456 MHz.
