Gameplay

Race against an opponent in Over Top, a fast-paced driving game released by ADK in 1996 for the Neo-Geo MVS hardware. Players control various vehicles and navigate courses rendered with detailed backgrounds, striving to complete each race within a set time limit. Discovering hidden shortcuts is key to victory as you accelerate and decelerate using straightforward controls – an eight-way joystick and two buttons dedicated to speed adjustments. The game presents a unique visual style, combining 2D graphics with a sense of three-dimensional depth. Two players can compete simultaneously, adding a competitive edge to the experience. Over Top offers a challenging blend of skill and strategy as you learn track layouts and optimize your performance. Developed by a large team including Takashi Egashira (Director) and Kazuo Arai (Producer), this title was originally released in Japan on Neo-Geo AES and CD platforms shortly after its arcade debut.
