Mitchell’s Osman (World) debuted in arcades in 1996 and delivers fast-paced action as a scrolling platform fighter for up to two players. Developed originally in Japan under the title "Cannon Dancer," this export release challenges players with precise jumps and combat maneuvers against an array of opponents. Players control their characters through levels filled with obstacles, engaging in close-quarters battles with both ground-based enemies and those appearing from above. The gameplay involves a combination of platforming elements – navigating environments by jumping between ledges and avoiding hazards – and fighting mechanics emphasizing quick reflexes and strategic attacks. While the Japanese and American versions share identical game code, a difference exists within their memory systems. Osman (World) offers a competitive experience for two players simultaneously, demanding coordination and skill to overcome its challenges.
