Gameplay

Step into a vibrant world inspired by Asian mythology in Oriental Legend, a fast-paced fighting game released in 1997 by IGS. Up to four players can choose from a roster of characters drawn directly from classic tales, engaging in close-quarters combat against waves of enemies. The gameplay utilizes a 2.5D perspective, allowing for depth and dynamic movement as you battle through varied stages. Players control their chosen warrior using an eight-way joystick and four buttons to execute attacks, jumps, and special moves. The game emphasizes chaining combos and utilizing character-specific abilities to overcome increasingly challenging opponents. Oriental Legend is the first installment in a series that includes Oriental Legend Super, Xiyou Shi E Chuan Qunmoluanwu, and Oriental Legend 2. A team of artists, engineers, and musicians contributed to this action-packed arcade experience, resulting in detailed character animation, lively music performed by Ray, and sound effects crafted by Eddie Yao. This version, marked as revision 126, represents a later iteration within the game's development cycle.
