NHL Open Ice: 2 on 2 Challenge (rev 1.21)

NHL Open Ice: 2 on 2 Challenge brings the fast-paced action of hockey to the arcade with a unique four-player twist. Inspired by the gameplay style of NBA Jam, this 1995 Midway title allows two teams of two players each to compete in high-scoring matches featuring over one hundred licensed NHL players. Control your skaters using an eight-way joystick and button controls to pass, shoot, check, and attempt scoring plays against opponents. The game boasts the energetic voice commentary of legendary announcer Pat Foley, adding to the electrifying atmosphere of the rink. While celebrating goals and delivering play-by-play updates, Foley creates a lively experience for all players involved. Hidden characters can be unlocked by entering specific code combinations at the start screen, allowing you to take control of familiar names like Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe. Keep an eye out while playing - a Kellogg’s Corn Pops advertisement appears in the background during gameplay. With its accessible controls, over-the-top action, and cooperative or competitive multiplayer options, NHL Open Ice: 2 on 2 Challenge delivers a unique and entertaining arcade hockey experience.
