Also known as: Nostradamus Yeeon

In Nostradamus, released in 1993 by Face, players take on the roles of pilots Dalas and Joanna, tasked with rebuilding civilization after a devastating nuclear catastrophe that has submerged much of the world. This two-player vertical scrolling shooter casts you amidst the ruins as you battle waves of enemies to protect the remaining survivors and restore humanity's future. As either pilot, players maneuver their aircraft using an eight-way joystick and utilize a single button to fire at approaching threats. Collecting power-ups enhances your firepower, allowing you to overcome increasingly challenging bosses that guard each level’s progression. The game’s soundtrack is driven by Yamaha YM2610 sound chip technology. The title draws inspiration from the historical figure Nostradamus, a French apothecary known for his prophecies—a connection reflected in the game’s post-apocalyptic narrative centered around predicting and averting global disaster. Nostradamus utilizes a Motorola 68000 CPU alongside a Zilog Z80 to drive its gameplay experience.
