New Hidden Catch (World) / New Tul Lin Gu Lim Chat Ki '98 (Korea) (pcb ver 3.02)
Eolith • 1999

Eolith’s New Hidden Catch presents a unique puzzle experience for two players simultaneously. The game tasks players with manipulating falling objects to create specific patterns and clear the screen; success relies on careful coordination and anticipating your partner's moves. Utilizing vibrant 16-bit color graphics, the gameplay unfolds across a horizontal display with resolutions of either 320x340 or 512x384 pixels, creating a visually engaging environment for this cooperative challenge. The game builds upon the foundation of its predecessor, Hidden Catch, and features a complex sound system incorporating multiple CPUs and a QDSP 1000 MIDI player to deliver background music and effects via an EPROM memory system. While originating as New Tul Lin Gu Lim Chat Ki '98 in Korea, it was later released internationally under the title New Hidden Catch. It's part of a series that also includes Hidden Catch 2 and Hidden Catch 3. A team led by producer Jeon Tae Young developed the game around a custom Eolith hardware platform with a Hyperstone processor. The combination of puzzle mechanics, cooperative play, and distinctive audio-visual presentation makes New Hidden Catch a memorable title in the arcade landscape released in January of 1999.
