Gameplay

Three ninjas embark on a mission to thwart a villain named Spider and his plans to manipulate history with a time machine in Alpha Denshi’s Ninja Commando. Released in 1992 for the Neo-Geo MVS platform, this side-scrolling shooter combines walking combat with ranged attacks as players navigate varied environments. Cooperative play allows two players to join forces against Spider's forces. Players control their chosen ninja and utilize a combination of standard firepower, somersault maneuvers, and special “ninja tricks” to overcome enemies. A unique feature is the ability to launch shuriken-like projectiles in all directions by combining button presses with joystick movements, offering tactical advantages in certain encounters. Magical bursts of energy are also available but at the cost of draining a portion of the ninja’s health. Ninja Commando builds upon earlier Alpha Denshi titles and delivers fast-paced action suitable for two players seeking a challenging cooperative experience on the Neo-Geo system.
