Gameplay

In Ninja Combat, two players take on the role of ninjas tasked with infiltrating a formidable castle. This 1990 fighting game from Alpha Denshi utilizes a unique 2.5D perspective, allowing for both forward and backward movement during combat. As you progress through the levels, defeating powerful boss characters unlocks them as playable fighters, expanding your roster of options. Players control their chosen ninja using an eight-way joystick and three buttons to attack, jump, and execute special moves. Mastering these controls is key to overcoming the castle’s defenders and utilizing strategic techniques like unleashing bursts of magical energy or performing somersault attacks. Some characters can also acquire temporary weapons such as swords or maces during gameplay. Ninja Combat runs on SNK's Neo-Geo MVS hardware, delivering a visually distinct experience for players in head-to-head competition. The game’s mechanics reward skillful timing and tactical use of special abilities to overcome the challenges within the ninja castle.
